Sustainable Mobility Analytics: From Passenger Flows to Equity
Description
As part of the GERAD thematic semester on sustainable mobility, this seminar explores the role of analytics in understanding and improving urban transportation systems, with a focus on passenger flows and equity considerations.
Three presentations will address complementary challenges in operations research and applied data science:
- Maria Laura Guerrero Balarezo — equity in urban transportation and gender-based travel differences in Canadian cities
- Xiaoxu Chen — Bayesian spatiotemporal modeling of passenger trip assignment in metro networks
- Nagisa Sugishita — congested facility location: efficiency and fairness under user equilibrium
These contributions highlight the diversity of approaches used to better understand, model, and improve transportation systems, while integrating both operational and societal considerations. The seminar will conclude with a discussion period.
